Sportspromedia reports that, Sorare and Kylian Mbappe have agreed a deal that will see the French soccer star become an ambassador and investor in the non-fungible token (NFT) fantasy sports platform.
The deal marks a first player ambassador agreement for Sorare, which has more than two million global users and in excess of 250 sports partnerships across leagues such as LaLiga, the Bundesliga, as well as Major League Baseball (MLB).
Under the new agreement, the blockchain company will support Mbappé's Inspired By KM (IBKM) charity, which aims to educate young people from disadvantaged backgrounds about the advantages of Web 3.0 technology.
Sorare will auction a unique Mbappe NFT for charity alongside training, conference, equipment and a special diploma to the youth IBKM works with.
Nicolas Julia, chief executive and founder of Sorare, said:
“[Kylian Mbappé] is a true football icon and will undeniably be one of the most important figures in world football for years to come. And like Sorare, he has limitless ambition, he’s fast-moving on and off the pitch, he has a truly global reach, and he is committed to enacting positive change in the world.”
“Off the pitch, the most important thing for me is helping empower young people – who might not have access to the type of opportunities others have – to realise and fulfil their dreams and potential,”
Mbappe added.
“And with new technologies presenting such profound opportunities, I wanted to partner with an ambitious, global tech brand that would resonate with the young people whose dreams we’re supporting. I can’t wait to get started and make a global impact with them as their first-ever player ambassador.
