German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, through its Web3 arm Mercedes-Benz NXT, has joined forces with digital art community Fingerprints DAO and Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel to unveil a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection inspired by automotive concepts.
Dubbed "Maschine," the generative art collection by van den Dorpel features 1,000 unique tokens built on the Ethereum blockchain. Drawing inspiration from velocity and perception, the artwork captures the essence of a wheel in motion. The sale of the NFTs will commence on June 7, following a Dutch auction format.
Mercedes-Benz NXT has revealed its intention to release three "core" collections, which are being planned, developed, and managed by the creative studio 0xNXT. Additionally, the Web3 arm aims to incorporate satellite and peripheral projects within its NFT ecosystem.
By leveraging the creative synergy between Fingerprints DAO, Harm van den Dorpel, and Mercedes-Benz NXT, the "Maschine" NFT collection represents an exciting fusion of automotive aesthetics and the world of digital art.
